What are herbal and Ayurvedic products?
A herbal product is made from plants or plant extracts, such as ashwagandha, tulsi, turmeric or ginger, and sold as a tablet, capsule, syrup or powder. Ayurvedic products follow Ayurveda, the traditional system of medicine from India, and use herbs in classical combinations such as triphala. Most are taken to support wellness, digestion, immunity or stress, not to treat a disease.
Progene Pharma supplies herbal and Ayurvedic products to brand owners, importers and distributors outside India, mostly under their own brand. Depending on the country, they are registered as traditional or herbal medicines, notified as supplements or sold as food, and the rules on ingredients and health claims differ widely.
