About paracetamol
What it treats
Paracetamol, called acetaminophen in some countries, relieves mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, period pain and muscle aches, and brings down fever. It is one of the most commonly used medicines in the world, and it is on the World Health Organization Model List of Essential Medicines.
How it differs from ibuprofen
Paracetamol relieves pain and fever but does not reduce inflammation. Ibuprofen and diclofenac, which are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, do both, so doctors choose between them depending on the problem. Paracetamol is generally gentler on the stomach.
How it is taken
The dose depends on age and weight, and the maximum daily dose must not be exceeded, because too much paracetamol can damage the liver. It is sold over the counter in many countries, and the suspension and drops give children an accurate dose. Patients should always follow the approved leaflet and the advice of their doctor or pharmacist.

Which strengths of paracetamol do you supply?
Tablets of 500 mg and 650 mg, suspensions of 120 mg and 250 mg per 5 ml, drops of 100 mg per ml, and an infusion of 1 g per 100 ml. Pack sizes and labelling are made to match the registration in your country.
Can you supply it under our own brand?
Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures it as a private label product, with the carton, blister or strip, bottle label and patient leaflet designed for your market and your regulator's requirements.
Is paracetamol the same as acetaminophen?
Yes. Paracetamol and acetaminophen are the same medicine, with different names in different countries. We label it with the name your regulator uses.
Is paracetamol sold without a prescription?
In many countries, yes, at least in standard strengths and small packs. Rules differ by country, so check with your authority. We supply the documents it asks for either way.
Which documents come with it?
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Progene Pharma also provides the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (COPP), MSDS and the product dossier you need to register and import it.
Where is it manufactured?
Progene Pharma manufactures it in a WHO-GMP certified facility in India, also certified to EU-GMP and ISO standards. Tell us your destination country and we will confirm which certification applies to your order.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Both depend on the strength, pack size and documents your market needs. We confirm them with your quotation, and we work with large importers as well as smaller distributors.
