Why Middle Eastern distributors choose Progene Pharma
Progene Pharma makes the same molecules as the original brands, to the same pharmacopoeia standards, at a fraction of the price. Our facility is WHO-GMP certified, the standard most health authorities in the region look for first, and also holds EU-GMP and ISO certification.
We ship by sea from Nhava Sheva (JNPT), near Mumbai, to Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Dammam and other regional ports, and by air for urgent orders. That keeps lead times short and freight costs down for repeat orders.

Medicine regulators in the Middle East
Each country registers medicines through its own regulator. These are the authorities in the largest markets; we prepare dossiers in the formats they expect.
- Saudi Arabia
- Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA)
- United Arab Emirates
- Emirates Drug Establishment and the Ministry of Health and Prevention
- Jordan
- Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA)
- Iraq
- Ministry of Health
- Kuwait
- Ministry of Health
- Oman
- Ministry of Health
- Qatar
- Ministry of Public Health
- Bahrain
- National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA)
- Lebanon
- Ministry of Public Health
- Yemen
- Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances
Some Gulf states coordinate their approvals through the Gulf Cooperation Council's central drug registration, so a single registration can be used in several member countries. Many countries require a local licence holder or agent. Rules differ by country, so check with your authority.
How registration usually works
Registration can take from several months to more than a year depending on the country, so many distributors register a few products first and add more as orders grow.
-
01
Appoint a local agent
Most countries register a medicine to a local company, usually the distributor or agent, which holds the licence and deals with the authority.
-
02
Submit the dossier
We prepare the CTD dossier, the COPP, the GMP certificate and samples, and your team files them with the authority.
-
03
Review and inspection
The authority reviews the dossier and tests samples, and may inspect the manufacturing facility or rely on its GMP certification.
-
04
Approval and import
Once approved, the registration number goes on the pack and each shipment is imported against a permit.
Made for Middle Eastern conditions
Heat, humidity, long journeys and several languages: what a medicine needs to stay good from the port to the patient.
-
Tested for heat
Stability studies at 30 °C and 75% relative humidity (Zone IVb), the condition Gulf and most regional authorities ask for, so the shelf life on the pack holds up in summer temperatures.
-
Arabic and English labels
Cartons and patient leaflets in Arabic, English or both on one pack, with the registration number, batch details and storage conditions your authority requires.
-
Capsules to suit your customers
Vegetarian (HPMC) capsules as well as gelatin, where your customers or your authority prefer them.
-
Track-and-trace barcodes
Space on the pack for the 2D barcode that some countries, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, require for tracking each medicine through the supply chain.

Something else? Email [email protected].
Do you export medicines to the Middle East?
Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures generic medicines in a WHO-GMP certified facility and supplies them to pharmacies, distributors, hospital suppliers and tender suppliers in the Gulf, the Levant and Iraq.
Can you help us register products with the SFDA or another regional authority?
Yes. Progene Pharma prepares the documents registration needs: a CTD dossier with Zone IVb stability data, the WHO-format COPP, the GMP certificate and samples for testing. Your company, as the local licence holder or agent, files them with the authority, and we answer its questions with you.
Do you supply packs labelled in Arabic?
Yes. Progene Pharma prints cartons, labels and patient leaflets in Arabic, English or both on one pack, to match your registration.
Are your medicines suitable for hot climates?
Yes. Products for Middle Eastern markets are tested at 30 °C and 75% relative humidity (Zone IVb) and packed in moisture-resistant blisters or bottles, so the shelf life stays valid in hot conditions.
Do you offer vegetarian capsules?
Yes. We fill vegetarian (HPMC) capsules as well as hard gelatin capsules, where your customers or your authority prefer them.
Can you supply government and hospital tenders?
Yes. Progene Pharma supplies tender packs and the product documents tenders usually ask for, such as the COPP, GMP certificate and COA. Tell us the tender requirements and we will confirm what we can provide.
Do I need a local company to import medicines?
In most Middle Eastern countries, yes. A medicine is registered to a licensed local company or agent, which then imports each shipment against a permit. Rules differ by country, so check with your authority.
How are orders shipped to the Middle East?
Progene Pharma ships by sea from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) near Mumbai to ports such as Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Dammam, Aqaba and Umm Qasr, or by air for urgent orders, on FOB, CFR or CIF terms.
What is the minimum order quantity?
It depends on the product, the dosage form and the packaging. We work with large importers and tender suppliers as well as smaller distributors, and confirm the minimum quantity with your quotation.
