What are diabetes medicines?

Diabetes medicines lower the level of sugar in the blood. In type 2 diabetes, the most common kind, they are taken as tablets alongside diet and exercise. They work in different ways: metformin lowers the sugar the liver releases, sulfonylureas such as glimepiride help the body make more insulin, and gliptins help the body use its own insulin better.

Progene Pharma supplies diabetes medicines to importers, distributors, hospitals and tender suppliers outside India. They are prescription medicines in most countries, and demand is growing as diabetes becomes more common.

Do you make metformin extended-release tablets?

Yes. We make metformin in immediate and extended-release tablets, and in fixed-dose combinations with glimepiride, gliclazide and the gliptins.

Do you supply insulin?

No. Our diabetes range is oral tablets. Insulin is a different product that needs a different kind of facility.

Can you make a combination that is not on your list?

Yes. Progene Pharma does custom manufacturing, so we can make a combination tablet to the strengths your guidelines recommend. Send us the details and we will confirm what is needed.

Can you make diabetes medicines under my brand?

Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures under your brand name, with your artwork, language and pack size, and can make any medicine in this area that is approved in your country, including new strengths and combinations.

Which documents do you provide for registration?

Progene Pharma provides a Certificate of Analysis with every batch, a COPP in the WHO format, a registration dossier in CTD or ACTD format with stability data, a copy of the facility's GMP certificate, MSDS, and samples for registration testing.

Do you sell these medicines in India?

No. Progene Pharma supplies distributors and importers outside India. Our products are for export only.
