What are vitamin, iron and mineral medicines?

These products replace nutrients the body is short of. Iron with folic acid prevents and treats anaemia, especially in pregnancy and childhood. Vitamin D3 and calcium support bones. Zinc is given with oral rehydration salts for children with diarrhoea, and multivitamins and B vitamins cover general shortfalls.

Progene Pharma supplies them to importers, distributors, hospitals and public health programmes outside India. Some are registered as medicines and others as supplements, depending on the strength and the country.

Are vitamins registered as medicines or as supplements?

It depends on the product, the strength and the country. High-dose and prescription vitamins are usually medicines, and everyday multivitamins are often supplements. Check with your authority. We supply the documents either way.

Do you make iron and folic acid for pregnancy?

Yes. We make iron and folic acid tablets for pregnancy and adults, and iron syrups for children, in the strengths your guidelines use.

Do you make vitamin gummies?

Not at the moment. Our range is tablets, capsules, syrups, drops, sachets and injections. Ask us if you need another form.

Can you make vitamins, iron and minerals medicines under my brand?

Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures under your brand name, with your artwork, language and pack size, and can make any medicine in this area that is approved in your country, including new strengths and combinations.

Which documents do you provide for registration?

Progene Pharma provides a Certificate of Analysis with every batch, a COPP in the WHO format, a registration dossier in CTD or ACTD format with stability data, a copy of the facility's GMP certificate, MSDS, and samples for registration testing.

Do you sell these medicines in India?

No. Progene Pharma supplies distributors and importers outside India. Our products are for export only.
