About vitamin b complex
What it is used for
Vitamin B complex supplies thiamine, riboflavin, pyridoxine, nicotinamide and other B vitamins. It is used to treat and prevent B vitamin deficiency, which can come from poor diet, alcohol use, pregnancy, illness or long-term medicines, and it supports nerve and energy metabolism.
Why it sells
It is among the most widely bought supplements in pharmacies, in tablet and syrup form, and a classic private label product. Injectable forms are used in clinics for patients who cannot take it by mouth.
How it is taken
It is usually taken once or twice a day with food. The amounts of each vitamin differ by product, and the label gives them. Large doses of pyridoxine over a long time can affect the nerves, and some vitamins turn urine bright yellow, which is harmless.
