About zinc
What it is used for
Zinc, given for ten to fourteen days alongside oral rehydration salts, shortens childhood diarrhoea and lowers the chance of another attack in the following months. It is also used to correct zinc deficiency and is in many cold and immune supplements.
Why programmes buy it
The World Health Organization and UNICEF recommend it for every child with diarrhoea, so ministries, NGOs and donors buy it in large quantities, often packed with ORS.
How it is taken
A dispersible tablet is dissolved in a little water or breast milk and given once a day for ten to fourteen days, even after the diarrhoea stops. It can cause nausea or vomiting, and large doses over a long time can lower copper levels. Patients should always follow the approved label and the prescriber's instructions in their country.

Something else? Email [email protected].
Which strengths of zinc do you supply?
Dispersible tablets of 20 mg; syrups of 20 mg per 5 ml. Other strengths can be made to order, and pack sizes and labelling are made to match the registration in your country.
Can zinc be sold without a prescription?
That depends on the country and the pack. In many places it is sold over the counter, in others only on prescription, and it is registered with the national medicines regulator either way. Check with your authority.
Can you supply ORS and zinc co-packs?
Yes. We supply oral rehydration salts and zinc tablets packed together or separately, with the documents tenders usually ask for. Send us the requirements and we will confirm what we can provide.
Can you supply it under our own brand?
Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures it as a private label product, with the carton, blister foil or label and patient leaflet designed for your market and your regulator's requirements.
Which documents come with it?
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Progene Pharma also provides the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (COPP), MSDS and the product dossier you need to register and import it.
Where is it manufactured?
Progene Pharma manufactures it in a WHO-GMP certified facility in India, also certified to EU-GMP and ISO standards. Tell us your destination country and we will confirm which certification applies to your order.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Both depend on the strength, pack size and documents your market needs. We confirm them with your quotation, and we work with large importers as well as smaller distributors.
