What are anthelmintics and antiprotozoals?

Anthelmintics, or dewormers, kill the worms that live in the gut and elsewhere in the body, such as roundworm, hookworm, tapeworm and the worms that cause schistosomiasis. Antiprotozoals treat infections caused by single-celled parasites, such as amoebiasis, giardiasis and trichomoniasis.

Progene Pharma supplies these medicines to importers, distributors, hospitals and public health programmes outside India. Some are sold in pharmacies, and others are bought in bulk for school and community deworming.

What is the difference between an anthelmintic and an antiprotozoal?

Anthelmintics treat infections caused by worms, such as albendazole for roundworm. Antiprotozoals treat infections caused by single-celled parasites, such as metronidazole for amoebiasis. Some medicines work against both.

Do you make chewable deworming tablets?

Yes. We make chewable albendazole and can pack them in the single-dose strips and bulk packs that school programmes use.

Can you supply bulk packs for mass deworming?

Yes. Progene Pharma supplies bulk and programme packs, with the documents programmes usually ask for. Tell us the quantity and we will confirm what we can provide.

Can you make anthelmintics and antiprotozoals medicines under my brand?

Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures under your brand name, with your artwork, language and pack size, and can make any medicine in this area that is approved in your country, including new strengths and combinations.

Which documents do you provide for registration?

Progene Pharma provides a Certificate of Analysis with every batch, a COPP in the WHO format, a registration dossier in CTD or ACTD format with stability data, a copy of the facility's GMP certificate, MSDS, and samples for registration testing.

Do you sell these medicines in India?

No. Progene Pharma supplies distributors and importers outside India. Our products are for export only.
