About paclitaxel
What it treats
Paclitaxel is a taxane chemotherapy medicine used to treat cancers of the breast, ovary and lung, and some others, alone or with carboplatin or other medicines. It is on the World Health Organization Model List of Essential Medicines.
Why hospitals buy it
It is one of the most used cancer injectables, with a wide range of indications, so oncology units and national tenders buy it in large volumes. Cancer medicines are prescribed and supervised by oncology specialists.
How it is given
It is given by a trained healthcare professional as an infusion over three hours or weekly, after the concentrate is diluted. Patients receive medicines beforehand to prevent severe allergic reactions, and blood counts are watched. Injectable cytotoxic medicines must be prepared and given by trained staff using protective procedures, and the dose is worked out from the patient's body surface area and blood counts. Patients should always follow the approved label and the prescriber's instructions in their country.

Something else? Email [email protected].
Which strengths of paclitaxel do you supply?
Vials of 30 mg, 100 mg and 300 mg. Other strengths can be made to order, and pack sizes and labelling are made to match the registration in your country.
Is paclitaxel a prescription medicine?
In most countries, yes. It is sold with a prescription and registered with the national medicines regulator. Rules differ by country, so check with your authority.
Are cancer medicines made in a dedicated area?
Yes. GMP requires cytotoxic medicines to be made in dedicated, separate areas with controls to protect staff and prevent cross-contamination. The facility's documents show how, and each batch ships with its Certificate of Analysis. Tell us your authority and we will confirm which documents apply.
Can you supply it under our own brand?
Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures it as a private label product, with the carton, blister foil or label and patient leaflet designed for your market and your regulator's requirements.
Which documents come with it?
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Progene Pharma also provides the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (COPP), MSDS and the product dossier you need to register and import it.
Where is it manufactured?
Progene Pharma manufactures it in a WHO-GMP certified facility in India, also certified to EU-GMP and ISO standards. Tell us your destination country and we will confirm which certification applies to your order.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Both depend on the strength, pack size and documents your market needs. We confirm them with your quotation, and we work with large importers as well as smaller distributors.
