About cetirizine
What it treats
Cetirizine relieves the symptoms of allergy: sneezing, a runny or blocked nose and itchy, watery eyes caused by hay fever or dust, and itching and swelling from hives. It is one of the most widely sold allergy medicines in pharmacies.
How it works
When the body meets something it is allergic to, it releases a chemical called histamine, which causes the symptoms. Cetirizine blocks histamine. It is a second-generation antihistamine, which means it is less likely to cause drowsiness than older ones, although some people still feel sleepy.
How it is taken
It is taken once a day, with or without food, and the syrup and drops give children an accurate dose. It may cause drowsiness in some people, so they should take care when driving. The dose is lower for children and for people with kidney problems. Patients should always follow the approved leaflet and the advice of their doctor or pharmacist.

Tablets of 10 mg, a syrup of 5 mg per 5 ml, and drops of 10 mg per ml. Pack sizes and labelling are made to match the registration in your country.
Can you supply it under our own brand?
Yes. Progene Pharma manufactures it as a private label product, with the carton, blister foil or bottle label and patient leaflet designed for your market and your regulator's requirements.
Is cetirizine sold without a prescription?
In many countries, yes, at least in the 10 mg strength and small packs. Rules differ by country, so check with your authority. We supply the documents it asks for either way.
Can you make syrups in different flavours?
Yes. We develop the flavour and colour with you, so a syrup suits your market, within the limits your authority allows.

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Progene Pharma also provides the Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (COPP), MSDS and the product dossier you need to register and import it.
Where is it manufactured?
Progene Pharma manufactures it in a WHO-GMP certified facility in India, also certified to EU-GMP and ISO standards. Tell us your destination country and we will confirm which certification applies to your order.
